“ Impressive! I was initially doubtful that a chain could deliver quality Caribbean food, but the goat curry exceeded expectations. It was authentic, especially for a chain restaurant, better than many independents. The only thing missing was the bone and a touch of marrow. The service from Brooke was outstanding, and the cocktails were excellent. Highly recommended! ”
“ Amazing new look and feel. Nathan was a brilliant host and looked after us. Big thanks as he was so hospitable and so friendly. Thanks for the dominos corner, we had fun ”
“ It’s my birthday today and both Nathan and Shania were EXTREMELY welcoming. They gave me a lovely birthday card and ice cream as a treat which was really nice. You don’t really get that anywhere. The customer service was top tier ! I will definitely return! ”
“ We have just had the most lovely waitress Taylor. At the Chelmsford venue. She was always there to answer questions, give advice on the menu and all around just kind and welcoming. Thank you Taylor for being so lovely and making the birthday brunch one to remember ”
“ Recently ate here on a Sunday afternoon. Wasn't too busy so easy to get a table. Food was very good, curry goat croquettes to start and the bay burger for main. Wife had fish tacos and monkfish skewers. Passion fruit rumtini to drink which was excellent, also 2-4-1 on cocktails which was nice. Service charge 12% is added to the bill. Staff very friendly. I was probably most surprised by the side of broccoli, assumed it would be fairly bland however it was delicious. Plenty of seasoning and butter. Would definitely go again. ”
“ I had the most delicious breakfast here this morning as part of a group. I've been here plenty of times in the evening for dinner or cocktails, but i didn't realise they also offer breakfast too. The food was 5* and the poached eggs were on point. The service was superb Thank you, Tom, for being so attentive. The coffee here is good too. What more could I ask for.. A great start to my Sunday, so Thank you! I will definitely be returning, and I highly recommend the breakfast menu if you haven't tried it yet ”
“ Haven’t been to Turtle Bay before, but came here for the first time with my partner this evening and honestly can say we’ve had one of the nicest evenings! Our servers were absolutely fab, we didn’t catch their names but a young guy and young girl (absolutely amazing and so attentive!!) we then moved to the bar tables to finish our drinks and had a lovely experience chatting to the bar stuff, it was honestly a breath of fresh air speaking to Alfie and Ollie, absolute 5 star to the both of them, fantastic members of staff who actually leave an impact, what a team!!! Thanks guys ”
“ We visited Turtle Bay in Chelmsford as a family of three and absolutely loved it! From the moment we walked in, it truly felt like being in Jamaica. The atmosphere is vibrant and full of positive energy — a real escape from everyday life. The food was incredible. Hands down the best Jerk Chicken we’ve ever had — even better than what we’ve tasted in Jamaica! The Backribs were also absolutely delicious — tender, packed with flavour and definitely not too small in portion. Very satisfying! The cocktails were fantastic too, whether alcoholic or alcohol-free. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and full of Caribbean soul. One of the highlights was the music. Instead of the typical Bob Marley playlist you hear in so many places, they played real old-school reggae — it felt authentic and added so much to the vibe. Nothing about the experience felt touristy or fake — just pure island feeling. The service was warm and welcoming. While it could be a little faster at times, everyone was kind, laid-back, and friendly. The decor is stunning, with so much attention to detail — even little things like dominoes on the tables that made us smile. You can tell they’ve poured a lot of love into this place. If we had one small piece of feedback: the festivals could be just a little bigger. In Jamaica, they’re usually longer and fluffier, and for 2.50, adding a third one would make it feel more generous. Still tasty though! We are visiting from Germany, and our aunt who lives in Chelmsford brought us here — and what a great choice it was! We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended! ”
